Project Brief

Problem: Study the fundamentals of the print process and production to design a holiday card. The holiday card must be made from scratch and include at least one fold. Applying the skills learned, produce at minimum 40 deliverables.

Study and Practice:  Practice assignments got me up to speed with basic functions of print production. Those including:  folding, trimming, target practice, imposition, spot-colors, paper calibration, etc. I chose the fourth of July as my holiday as it is one of my favorite holidays. I chose a rolling triangle fold to replicate the motion of folding/unfolding a flag for as part of the card's experience. Using the specialty paper I bought for the project, I imposed 3-up on 11"x17" sheets to print, cut, and fold a minimum of 40 deliverables. My project earned third place at University of Houston's RedFest.
